Sources, please...
That was a VERY sweeping generality you just
threw out there. I hope you brought a really big broom.
Your assertion is that EVERY singer goes through
this. Okay... when has it ever happened to James Hetfield? Metallica's
tours go on a little longer and without the month-long sabbaticals and people
who've heard them on the last night of a tour report that James sounds every bit
as good as the first night of the tour. Quite frankly, the only other
shining examples of voice problems I've heard have been Axl Rose (to this day he
can't get through more than a couple songs before the voice starts to go on him)
and Anthony Kiedis. Of course the Chili Peppers are so horrible live I suppose
no one really notices if Anthony's voice gives out. All these guys (Stapp,
Rose, Kiedis) have one thing in common: They don't take the appropriate steps to
keep their voices healthy. They probably don't warm up at all (and a sound check
doesn't count) and they put their voices through torture 100-200 nights a year.
I'm not bashing anyone. I'm not criticizing anyone. I'm simply making an
observation based on the facts. If Scott Stapp doesn't start taking better care
of his voice he won't have one 10 years from now. Did I say 10? Make it
FIVE.

That happens to every singer more
often than you think.
