Recently I've been having these in depth thoughts about life in general. The first was sparked by something a friend said to me. As she was sitting by a window at the IU campus she was looking down at the road and noticed a crack in the road. Thinking to herself she realized just because there is a crack in the road it doesn't make it any less of a road. The same scenario applies to us as humans. Just because we falter as humans along life's road, it doesn't make us any less of a person. Throughout life we falter and fall many times but the thing that makes up strive on is the realization that the faults won't destroy ourselves.
Next deep thought........ Last night I was thinking about how in life we merely recognize a person's face by a glance. When I was working with a speech coach for a piece I was doing I actually looked at his face I realized this man had much more to offer to the world than he let on. Just by looking at a person's face one can ascertain so much more. I never though how much looking into someone's eyes will allow you to see inside their soul. This man is unlike all other teachers you can experience, he doesn't just make you learn things but he really takes the time to explain it and teach it to you. He is a follower of Ba'hai (sp?) and is very willing to help his students. Not just with him but with others as well. Friends, acquaintances, peers, employers, even random strangers have so much more to offer.
The strange part about this is last night I was having these thoughts and today I get to school to hear that this teacher now has an undetected form of cancer. From what his wife says and the school agrees, he will not return to teach for the remainder of the year. A sudden illness brought him to the hospital and doctors performed an emergency surgery when the cancer was found. My feelings are like that of most others when experiencing grief. Why do terrible things like this always happen to the best of them?
The moral of my rambling is, take time to look a person in the face when talking. Look deep inside their soul to truly understand what makes them so unique. Then and only then will one find the true meaning to their madness.
