I always thought that this song was about a child beingsexually abused by someone close to them. I thought that it waswritten to bring the subject more out in the open. Children needto know that they are not alone and actually DO have the power tostop the abuse. That is IF adults listen and realize that this horribleabuse is really being done to a child by someone that they alllove and trust. It must be horrible; I am glad that there are artistsout there with the guts to speak of the unspeakable. I love the*fluffy* feel good music too, but whenever art is considered "great"...it always seems to be the stuff that makes us stop and think.
I personally feel that many of the recent postings are a cop-out.....being able to be rude and cruel to others whose faces you do not face.Yeah. It is too easy. Too easy to take out our frustrations oneach other. Many of us (I am including myself) are guilty ofthis, we are only human. It is a very small percentage of thelist that seems to be constantly frustrated. These people (nonames or finger pointing here) are intelligent and docontribute a great deal to the list (when they are not p*ssedoff at one of us). A few of these flamers have a fantastic senseof humor too. I miss those posts. I do not miss their personalattacks.I really do think that the flames are much smaller nowthough. Believe it or not...the personal insults have beentoned down a lot.Michele C.
