you should read up on copyright law, Jim.  it's crystal clear you don't even know the basics.  The minute you write an email, for example, before you ever have the chance to hit the send button, that Email is copyrighted and you're the owner of that copyright.  Everyone is protected by copyright. 
 
Besides, as far as  I know, all of the artists cited here (and a few that aren't) are in favor of trading but not the released albums. When I've seen these discussions, it's about unreleased music  -- concerts and stuff.  I've never seen an artist who has a released cd say they're in favor of that cd being shared via P2P software.  I'd be interested in seeing how wrong I am.  bring it on.

I am starting to agree with you. Does anyone know of a decent, uncopyrighted band?
