the topic of conversation is:

downloading CDs in an effort to circumvent purchasing them
AND
burning released material to distribute to others
AND
using P2P software to get access to the copyrighted songs
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
announcing it on a web site/bb/mail list that's sponsored by the copyright owner

And btw, it IS illegal any way you slice it.  Sharing the blue collar cd, for example.  even though it's no longer cataloged or printed (and the copyright owners can no longer collect money from sales), you can't legally copy it or share it.  I don't remember anyone except Davey, Daan, Chastity, Dinah, etc arguing that these things are anything but illegal.

Do people still do it?  yep.  do they know it's wrong?  most people do, which is why you don't see it announced on the copyright owner sponsored lists/bulletin boards/web sites.  That's how this whole thing started, remember?  It was brought up here that someone was distributing creed music to  friends who hadn't purchased the licenses for it and people don't see why that's wrong.

Well, let's see, if I said, for example, that Dawn is a thief, accomplice, or hypocrite, that would be personally singling myself out, and the last time I checked, those are not things that MOST would be proud to be called.  Therefore, those words directed toward ONE person specifically, could be interpreted as a personal attack.  Also, I am not seeing the relevance of your bible reference.  I would also like to know how Jess and I have gone way off on a tangent.  The last I checked, theft is theft, which is illegal, "any way you slice it"....

You have to make a personal attack to reveal specifics?  Ah well,
doesn’t really matter anyway, does it?  “Let he who is without sin cast
the first stone”, and you and Jess have gone WAY off on a tangent
anyway.

There are ALWAYS specifics, but isn't it against the rules to make
personal attacks, and besides,  who am I to point fingers?
