I think you can read between the lines and find a few artistic differences between him and Scott...can't think of any specific examples - just things I'd heard in interviews, the look on Scott's face when the subject comes up in an interview... sorta "do we really have to go there?" in nature.  Still, you're right. They never cited a real reason.
