personally, i'm a little creeped out by it. It's probably a good thing i'm not a parent.

i have a 13 year old son...and it's truly amazing how many bands we both
like...i can remember being his age, my parents absolutely hated most of
what i listened to...but now he's bugging the hell out of me to take him to
his first concert...i'm thinking of taking him to creed...but then i wonder,
i don't know how much fun i can have with my son with me, ya know?

Hey Lee I think it's great when parents and children share their musical tastes with eachother, it can really do wonders for the relationship.  I appreciate my parents' tastes in music and they appreciate mine.  I took my parents with me to see Hootie at MSG back in '95, well they paid for the tickets but I invited them to come.  My dad was a hootie fan, but my mom wasn't too big on them, but she came anyway and had a great time.  I think it would be a great idea for you to take your son to see Creed, especially if you can make it to more than one show, take him to one and enjoy the rest without him lol.
