i was reading the Creed BB today and i was again disturbed by people talking about how "Weathered isnt what they wanted" or "expected". God, are we really this selfish??? I sometimes wonder if people who talk like this are really true fans of music... Music isnt about what we expect to ear or want to hear; its about a band putting thier hearts and souls into 10~16 songs that we have the privilage to share when we pop it in our cd player or tape deck.

Honestly, with Weathered, i didnt know what to expect. I thought [lyricaly] that there was going to be at least 1 song dealing with Jagger and maybe some songs about the present state of society and [musicaly] it was up in the air being that Creed's style has evolved so much over the years. When songs started hitting Morphious and Zazaa, i quickly started getting as much as i could and every song i heard i loved. Not just becuase of what i was takeing as face value (some where heavy, some were light) but for the deeper levels of these songs. The lyrics were awesome and the music was so dynamic. Weathered was true Creed music and i stand by my opinion that it is the best.

i will admit that i cant argue opinion. its impossible. what im trying to get across is that if u are going have an opinion, make it a good one witha firm backing. We often bash critics becuase of what they say and some i beleive are stuck up thier own ass. but really, u have to understand and know where they are comming from with what they say, i mean come on, thats why people pay them to write thier opinion. They look at music and many different levels, sure they have thier astetic taste, but they know when to sepereate that and not use it as a bias like some people do.

i guess what im really trying to say is that for thoes who are "dissapointed", they need to shut up and listen to it again. for that matter, for anyone who listens to music, we all need to do the same. The musicians of the world are grachious enought  and very brave to put thier souls on the line for all of us to hear. the least we can do is truly listen to what they have to say. music is art and all art is beautiful in its own right.
