NEWS - Creed's Scott Stapp Calls 'Weathered' Band's Most Dynamic Album Yet 11/20/2001

(11/20/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Out today (November 20) is Weathered, Creed's new album and the follow-up to 1999's 10-million seller Human Clay. Some reviewers have noted that the 11-track album seems to rock harder than either its immediate predecessor or the band's 1997 debut, My Own Prison, which frontman Scott Stapp tells LAUNCH he agrees with, to a point."I think it's the most dynamic record we've ever written, from top to bottom," he says. "You know, when you go from 'Bullet' to 'Lullaby,' the song titles alone show a dynamic. But when you actually hear the songs, you really know how dynamic we go from song one to song 11."Stapp adds that the song themselves are also more dynamic. "The heavier songs got heavier, some of the softer songs got softer, and then you have your Creed staple songs, which are songs that we just can't avoid writing," he says. "They just come out, and we like 'em, and so we put 'em on the record. It's got your usual, and then it's got your unusual for us."Creed performs at halftime of the NFL Thanksgiving Day game on Thursday (November 22) in Dallas, and is planning to kick off a tour in mid-January to promote Weathered.-- Gary Graff, Detroit.  For more news at LAUNCH, click here.
