Yes, check this singer Ed Harcourt, I only know one song called "Something in my eye", it's a good song, but it's mellow. Oh, and now I know this another one, I just couldn't match the name and song. His cd "Here be monsters" got some very good reviews.

Actually, I just did a term search for the lyrics you did supply, and that was the only thing that came up... so I figured that the chances were pretty good that was the song you were talking about.

I'm thinking about checking them out now though. I read through some of their other songs, and the lyrics don't seem half-bad. Going to have to see if the music matches it well now.
