In my opinion...I think it's great that their new album will have some songs that are different.  I can't stand it when some bands (Green Day) make all their songs sound exactly alike. Don't get me wrong, I like Green Day, but it's just that you can't tell one song from the other.  Creed have obviously included songs their fans are used to (My Sacrifice) and some with a new sound (Bullets).  Maybe this is the only song like it on the album, we just don't know yet.  But I am glad to see that the guys are comfortable enough with who they are to try new things...I am also VERY glad that they are not catering to the "Higher" fans.

The thing is, there are songs by Beastie Boys and Rage that I don't mind,
though I wouldn't consider myself a fan of either group - my ex-husband
listened to them, so I got used to the songs he played the most.  The thing
is, it's THEIR style, so it doesn't sound odd for me to hear the "yelling
and screaming" from them... it's pretty much expected.  I was just really
surprised (and yes, disappointed) to hear it coming from Creed... as
previously stated, I don't think much of that type of music, and I expected
better from them.  To me, them saying that this album is going to be harder
and different from the others meant more of a "What If" sound.  I'm the type
of person who doesn't really care for change much, which is probably why I
didn't care for the new style.  It seems like they made some pretty major
changes away from their norm.  I've seen others on the list ranting and
raving about how this will open up new doors for them, help them get a new
fanbase... what about losing the old fans?  The original ones weren't good
enough?  (No, not trying to pick a fight, just rhetorical questions there).
I suppose that the opinion of three fans (me, Scott, and my sister Megan)
don't really matter a whole lot in the overall scheme of things, but at
least having two others agree with me lets me know that I'm not completely
daft in not liking the song that much.  Oh well... maybe it'll grow on me.
The thing is, I LIKE some bands that others consider harder or darker...
Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, Linkin Park, Type-O Negative, Tool, Rob
Zombie... (I don't really know which other bands I like would be considered
hard or not).  I guess the point is that I just don't like that style coming
from Creed.
