Sorry I need to cut out some of
Tara's post, because of the line limit.
I think this yelling comes out
because of the emotions. Expressing feelings with screaming is just one of the
few ways to do this. If he feels like he wants to scream it (wants to be
honest)... I totally understand why he does like that. To get the
emotions out of his chest. And it's not only anger, but also kind
of dissapointment I would say.Basically - for me- it's just the moment
"look at me, at least look at me when you shoot a bullet through my head".
Sometimes I like to scream loud along with lyrics, mostly when I'm
mad:)
But "Bullets" may be just
one song on the album, where he screams. They wanted to show us the
diversity, first gave "My Sacrifice", then "Bullets", so we can see that their
music is changing. I hope we all be satisfied with new stuff
though.
It's almost impossible to write
music, which would satisfy all the fans. In my opinion they don't write music to
satisfy fans in the first place. The write what they feel, if we feel the same,
then it's good. They probably even didn't think if they get a bunch of new
fans or lose some old, because it's always like that (although I'm not Creed, so
it's only my thoughts). I think they deserve credits just for trying
something different. If you sold over 10 000 000 copies it would be too
easy if you just put on another "HC" cd. I am not sure if I make myself clear,
but my point is:if you're a writer you need to be true and not writing something
because it's popular right now or so, and look for an opportunity to develop
yourself as a musician. Of course it's only my opinion.
In general, sometimes we get
something totally different that we expected, but it can open for us new "music
spaces" LOL
Agie
p.s. speaking of Beastie Boys, Keith
are you here somewhere? I finally got to know their older punk stuff you
mentioned some time ago! LOL, no comments ;)

The thing is, there are songs by Beastie Boys and Rage that I
don't mind,
though I wouldn't consider myself a fan of either group - my
ex-husband
listened to them, so I got used to the songs he played the
most. The thing
is, it's THEIR style, so it doesn't sound odd for me
to hear the "yelling
and screaming" from them... it's pretty much
expected. I was just really
surprised (and yes, disappointed) to hear
it coming from Creed... as
previously stated, I don't think much of that
type of music, and I expected
better from them. To me, them saying
that this album is going to be harder
and different from the others meant
more of a "What If" sound. I'm the type
of person who doesn't really
care for change much, which is probably why I
didn't care for the new
style. It seems like they made some pretty major
changes away from
their norm. I've seen others on the list ranting and
raving about how
this will open up new doors for them, help them get a new
fanbase... what
