Well, I have children and, although I agree that you do make sacrafices as a parent, I can't say that I leave my children long enough to say to them "hello my friend we meet again it's been awhile where should we begin feels like forever..."

Perhaps the Brian Marshall connection makes a little more sense, but the lyrics do talk about "a perfect love that you gave to me" and most guys do not talk to each other that way, unless they're, well, THAT way!
