about the whole creed/staind thing, i dont think you can really compare
them....they are completely different bands. creed may be more positive or
whatever but i dont think they are trying to do that just to put out a good
message, if he is then that is bullshit, he should just write whatever you
feel and normally people write when they are upset. staind is in my top 3 fav
bands for sure and i love the lyrics, lyrics shouldn't be written just to be
"good" "positive" or whatever you wanna call it, it should just represent how
you feel and i think staind is an amazing band.  very very talented i dunno
who saw their unplugged, but it was amazing, oh my god. ok sorry, that's my 2
cents..........thanks for listening.

I don't think there was really a direct comparison between Creed and Staind mentioned. Not musically anyway.  I along with a few others have pointed out the differences between the two bands.  Sure they are both amazing bands with powerful lyrics that come from the heart. But that's about it.  Staind was mentioned because Jim and I were having a discussion about his views of the new single, and he mentioned Staind as being one of the more recent bands that he likes. I am a huge Staind fan so I used that common thread to make a point.  Also Gina mentioned how the different dynamics of the two bands sort of balanced eachother out.  That can't really be looked at as a comparison.  And in reference to your comment about putting out a positive message, I'm pretty sure Scott's agenda isn't to put out a positive message, I don't think anyone said that was Scott's intention.  If you are referring to the speculation of the reasons why Creed may have decided to go with a more positive single, then those should just be taken as suggestions and not opinions. And I know no one said lyrics were supposed to be positive, lyrics should come from the heart, that's what makes them so powerful.  I'm not really sure about that whole "normally people write when they are upset" comment, unless there's a study or something that backs that up, I'll just take it as opinion and not fact. I mean if that were true, I don't think there would be so many love poems written.
