That's one of the most ridiculous arguments for forwarding information from an unknown source that I've ever heard. Hey, if someone passes you without headlights on, don't flash your lights at them! They're gang members who will kill you! (another urban legend) Oh, and there are people going around stealing kidneys. Better forward it to everyone JUST IN CASE!

These hoaxes cause real monetary damage for ISPs. They get propogated through hundreds of millions of email addresses over and over taking up space. Space that costs money. Space that you and I are paying for in ISP fees.

Don't forward anything without checking the facts.
