OK, has there been an official, congressional, Declaration of War?
Because I heard on the radio today that President Bush told the military
to "Brace yourselves, we're going to war."
It worries that we may have to. After all, Afghanistan DID warn us not to
attack, and they have threatened to retaliate if we do. Not to mention
between us and them, we have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the entire
population of the Earth six times over. Honestly, I'm 16 years old. I
have my whole life ahead of me. I still have to graduate from high
school. Go to college. Get married. Start a family. Fulfill my dreams.
I'm too young to die! It scares me to death that the end may be very,
very, near. Last night after the football game me and a bunch of my best
friends were driving around town, laughing and talking, and it's so scary
to think that the number of times we could do that again may be very,
very, limited. This whole tragedy has been very humbling for me because
now every time I do something I try to enjoy it to the fullest, knowing
full well it could be my last time. I'm trying not to take anything for
granted, because the things I have now may not be there tomorrow. I'm
taking life one day at a time now, and thanking God for every moment he
gives me and the wonderful things He has done for me. I can only hope
that the leaders of worldwide country's will have God's grace and
strength and wisdom when they make their decisions regarding this
terrible incident.
