Keith, I was going to keep quiet
about this, but you know me...
Debbi had every right to request that
the topic not be discussed. Just as other people had every right to ask
that the Windows topic not be discussed... and the ass topic not be
discussed. And they all got the same response... even from Debbi... "just
delete it if it's not what you want to read".
Yes, this topic may be hitting Debbi
close to home, and that may be why she asked that it not be discussed. But
it is also hitting home for millions of other people who lived in, or near New
York and Washington. And just because Debbi chooses not to discuss what is
going on, does not mean that no one else wants to discuss it. And for a
lot of people, it's better to discuss what they are feeling than to hold it
inside.
As Tara suggested, perhaps in this
case, it would be a good idea to have one single subject line set up just for
this topic, so that those who do not want to read it can set up a message
filter... but in my personal opinion, Debbi could have asked in a nicer way, and
also could have responded in a much nicer way too... keeping with your recent
topic regarding the use of the word Fuck and the term LOL in every
e-mail.
If she was so offended by the topic,
when she was told that it would not stop (as very rarely a topic WILL stop just
because of one person's request), instead of saying "Fuck you all" and leaving,
why did she not just set up a filter for the topic, or delete on
site?
But this is just my opinion (and to
borrow from Dennis Miller) and I could be wrong.

Which is EXACTLY what
Debbi was trying to express. She and I have been talking about it, but
we aren't rehashing it, just discussing our feelings. Can you all truly
not see the difference?

So why is it that when Alexis says basically the same thing
Debbi did,
nobody seems to mind, but Debbi gets told to "just use the
delete button"?
