I can see everyone's point... it's just a difference in the way people deal with tragedies.  Some people sort of "close up" and don't want to talk about it much, if at all, while others (like me) are helped by discussing it with other people.  The way it stands, one group of people is going to have to give up what they want.  Either the talkers stop talking, or the quiet ones stop reading the discussion list for the moment.  I just don't see a compromise here... unless perhaps all those talking about the tragedy used a common subject line, so that those who don't want to read such posts will be forewarned?

Pretty safe to assume that Debbi won't be talking to much of ANYONE here for awhile.  I haven't even talked to her, and we talk EVERY NIGHT.  And I'm sure she's probably worried SICK, because she has close friends in NYC, and her husband is in the Coast Guard.

I'm the first to admit that pretty much any topic is fair game, but I can certainly see Debbi's point.

I think there is something else going on here.....This was totally
unnecessary.  Are we to bow to your wishes because you say so?  This is a
discussion list and this topic is to be expected.  If you need to talk, I am
here.
