That depends on your definition of "hooked up majorly".  In all actuality, high ASVAB scores don't really do much more than give you more options as far as HOW Uncle Sam will screw you in the military.  That sounds really cynical, so let me clarify.  The higher you score on the ASVAB battery, the more of the "212 ways you can be an 'Army of One'" become available to you.  My own scores allowed me to have the pick of ANY job in the Army (or any of the branches), but my color-blindness limited me to NON-combat and NON-combat support jobs, which in the end led to some of my disillusionment.

And in my experience, military service is neither helped nor hindered by race, sex, nationality, etc.  I found the Army to be the most non-discriminatory employer I've had, where positions and promotions truly were filled based on merit alone.  There are of course exceptions, but generally I found this to be true.

If you score high on the ASVAB test, they hook you up majorly, so I was
thinking about joining the services myself.  But then a lot of people say
that women who join the service usually end up getting either married or
pregnant within a year.. My dad said its because there are hardly any women
in there to begin with, and if you've got looks, well then you've pretty much
got the pick of the litter.
