After perusing the FAQ, I am hereby retracting my ill-advised "widely practiced" statement. According to this FAQ, about 70% of Utah is Mormon, and about 5% of those Mormons (approx 60,000) practice polygamy. Bear in mind, this info is based on a poll done in 1998, which is the most recent PERTINENT info I was able to find. I would tend to think the numbers have gone down since then, as the state of Utah is making pretty active attempts to "clean up" the practice as part of an image overhaul for the 2002 Olympics.
