Even if you're "getting a Christian message across" as long as you're not recruiting I don't think that you're a Christian band...but if you could define what a "Christian message" is I might be able to work with this more.

I think what makes u a Christian band is the lyrics u sing and the way u
believe. Even if u aren't preaching the Gospel in ur songs, u can still get
a Christian message across.
