I was actually kinda surprised
myself. The radio station that sponsored it, like I said before, only
plays Top 40 hits... so of course you know that 90% of it is pop music. So
to hear Def Leppard, Bruce Springsteen, and such, it was kind of a nice
twist. Of course, now it's back to everyday stuff. I probably would
have enjoyed it all so much more if the Firefighter in me wasn't watching all
these little kids (we're talking 6 and 7 year olds) running around with
fireworks and a lighter. One kid there, with his parents in the car parked
behind us, had one of those fountain fireworks, that you set on the ground, and
it shoots sparks about 6 feet into the air... well, it didn't light properly...
fuse burned down then went out. So here he is (couldn't be older than 8)
with the firework in one hand, lighter in another, trying to light it... and the
parents are just sitting there minding their own business. I was about to
go over and explain to him the value of keeping all your body parts as long as
possible, and the concept of third degree burns and skin grafts, when he decided
it was time to switch the brain back on, and threw it away. There really
needs to be some better education about this stuff out there... for the parents
more than the kids... {=o/

concerts
Actually, it was TERRIFIC, and
thanks for asking. I took my 3 nephews (6 yrs, 3 yrs, and ONE
WEEK!)
to see the fireworks, and we
all had a blast (pun DEFINITELY intended). BTW, I read about your 4th,
and I am QUITE jealous of the music selection. Our fireworks were cool,
but the music SUCKED!
