Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about the root word from which the others are derived. I made a gigantic map of European languages a few weeks ago (after researching it for almost 4 years), so I've managed to figure these things out pray well.

it's been a long time since my high school spanish, but i think that knowing another language helps to learn others...esp. when the root language is the same (ie, spanish, italian, even french has similarities)...i can still pick out some words, if you can figure out the root word...

I agree Salma, French isn't that hard to learn.  I'm also in my fourth
year
and quite fluent.  I'm hispanic, so I already know Spanish and the
language
is alike in many ways.

oh that's cheating! i had to learn from scratch :) hehe
i'm going to learn spanish sometime soon, hopefully my knowledge of french
will be helpful!

LOL,  i can't help being a Latina.  I think knowing Spanish helped
make learning French easier.  I really enjoy learning it.  Oh, is anyone else
buying the Staind CD today??
