Yes, I'll normally jump in on philosophical
conversations... however, like Scott said, work has been wearing me out
lately. I've basically just been taking the time to read through the
messages, and replying to a couple of the "easy" ones every now and then.
My personal philosophical thoughts lately have been revolving around work - why
some people are so rude, why people don't give others the benefit of the doubt,
why sometimes customers will lay blame on the wrong person... yeah, it's been a
rough week... lol
As far as the meaning of life... being that I don't
follow any particular religion, I also don't follow religious beliefs regarding
why we're here. I've made my own choices on what I want to do with my
life, and why, and the belief systems I want to instill in my children, but I
don't expect others to agree with me. My personal belief is that I should
do whatever I'm capable of to make improvements in the world and for other
people... I was originally going to study to be a pediatrician, but after
becoming pregnant with my oldest son, I decided I didn't want to take all that
time for college, being on call all the time, and missing so much of my own
child's life. Since I want to help people, be in a profession that can
make a difference, work with children, and still be able to spend plenty of
time with my own children, I decided to be a teacher, and minor in child
psychology. My hope is that I'll be one of those teachers who inspires
their pupils to live up to their potential; find the positive qualities in every
child, show each child that they're special, and so on with all the sappy
stuff... I guess I just figure that I want to (or even that I have to) do
something that will have positive long term effects, that will make a long
lasting good impression. I guess I must have picked up my ideals from my
mom - that you have to make the most of the gifts that you have. I happen
to have a relatively high level of intelligence, and I work very well with
children, so it would sort of be a "waste" not to do something with those
abilities. If that makes sense... it was kind of a long day at work, and
I'm awfully tired and not expressing myself well right now.
As far as other philosophical debates go... my
favorite things to debate are religion and ethics.
Talk to you later,
Tara

Hey Tara,

btw, aren't you supposed to be interested in
philosophy and all? I was surprised that there was no comment on my philosophy
talk from you.. anyways if you or anyone else feels like going into this kind
of discussion
(oops, I just remembered that I forgot to add the
NCR thingy to the subjects of my not-Creed-related messages..) just jump in,
I'll surely appreciate that, cause I'm intelectually hungry, so to speak..
