So, for me, the bottom line of this whole "losing
your faith" issue is for what sake you lose your faith, i.e. your
intentions. If you lose it to gain true happiness for your soul, then it's
ok. But if you lose it for superficial comfort, then it's a great
loss and it wasn't worth it. Let me just be more precise here because
people do mix up happiness with comfort a lot of times. To be truly happy
doesn't exclude being sad, tired and deceived. But it doesn't imply
accepting your misery neither. It's just that for true
happiness you'll inevitably have to pay a price. And the greater you want
your happiness to be the higher the price to pay for it. The price mainly
consists out of hard work, discipline, sarcrificing yourself for the sake of
others (this is what Jesus did by the way - ok. so this is where you can pin me
down: I am a Catholic, can't deny it, but a thinking Catholic - at least this is
what I claim..hehe), striving towards perfection, giving unconditional love (as
in not the physical love) etc.
