I've been watching and listening to the various discussions and have been trying to remember to remind the list of this:
I might well be showing my age here, but It wasn't all that long ago that a new band came onto the rock and roll scene and were called the "choir boys of rock" and had to try to deal with or shake loose from the label of "Christian rockers". This band was called U2. I've looked for some of those articles, but online archives from circa 1983 aren't easy to find. I very distinctly remember them being labeled though. And remember Bono saying "we don't have any answers, we just ask the questions." Interestingly, my search for the older articles revealed that they're STILL being labeled. This despite the fact that the entire band doesn't identify as "Christian". I guess, I'm just saying that, at least for U2, worse things could have happened to them than being labeled as a Christian band.
I'm confident that Creed will also be able to deal with this label and all the others that are thrown their way. It's really part of the game of music industry.
