That was well put--   I myself listen to everything from Creed, to some harder stuff, to some country, and even some pop. I'm not a big fan, but i must admit i've seen Britney Spears and NSync in concert. It's fun light music to listen to, sometimes we all gotta be a little silly :-)  But we shouldn't be knocking each others music, we are all humans, we all have opinions, and most of all most of us are or should be friends. right?? So we all have different musical tastes....thats what makes us different people, and we'd be boring if we were all the same.

First of all, I agree that it's not funny to "joke" about people dying.
Several people on this list have lost people close to them in the last few
months, so death isn't a joke to some. It's also just not nice to joke
about someone dying just because you don't like their music - I don't like
the boy bands or rap music, but I don't wish them dead - I just wish them
off of my radio. How pissed off would you be if someone who can't stand
Creed "joked" about them getting killed in a tour bus accident?
And I don't think it's that hard to accept someone liking music from several
genres. I consider Creed to be my favorite band, but I also like a lot of
other bands and artists that most people would never group together.
Grateful Dead are one of my favorite bands... Widespread Panic... Led
Zeppelin... Michael Crawford... Luciano Pavoratti... Type O Negative... Guns
n Roses... and so on. It just so happens that I don't really like boy bands
(or rap... or much r&b... etc.)... but if the music didn't appeal to people,
then it wouldn't be such a good seller. And why would all these newer boy
bands be appearing? There'd be no point in mimicking a style that wasn't
popular. My reasoning for not liking the boy band style of music is that's
it's too "poppy" for me... but if other people like listening to it, I don't
see what harm it's doing.
I'm rambling yet again... let me once again emphasize the "my opinion" part
of this post before I sign off...
