Just a suggestion... now that we do have a limit on the number of e-mails that can go through the list, perhaps it's time to start being more selective in what we send to the list.  I've always tried to be supportive of those who post NCR topics, citing the "Delete button" reasoning, and I've posted a few NCR topics myself.  However, that was before there was a message cap.  Now, whether you delete the messages, are irritated by them, think it's kinda funny, whatever, you have to remember that there IS a maximum number of e-mails that can pass through the list per day.  For every one-liner e-mail that says simply "LOL" and nothing else, that could bump an important e-mail off to the next day.  I'm not saying that we should completely eliminate NCR mail, especially during this slow time, but just that maybe we should be a bit more selective about what we send to the list and what we send privately.  I've already tried to ration my e-mails by privately responding to some people, and I know that some people are going to argue with my idea, but again, it's just a suggestion.  Perhaps that was the reasoning behind putting an e-mail cap on - to cut down on all the pointless e-mails?  Many times in the past I've checked my mail and seen a full screen of one line e-mails, all from the same person... up to 15 or so in a row.  Just remember... if you use up all 500 messages by 7 PM, and then Scott Stapp (or whomever your favorite band member is) shows up at your door because he was on a road trip and ran out of gas right outside your house and wants to use your phone, or have you take him to the gas station, then you'll have to wait until the NEXT DAY to tell us all!  That could mean waiting 15 hours or more, depending on when the list gets reset!
Just something to think about. =)
