Everyone needs to go get the Rolling Stone magazine. It answers A LOT of questions that I have not been able to find the answers to elsewhere. Scott's birth name was Anthony Scott Flippen, but his family called him Scottie. (He has posted to the BB as Anthony Flippen.) His father left his family by the time Scott was five. He spent his early years on a Cherokee Indian reservation in North Carolina with his relatives. He was ten when his mother married the oral surgeon, Steven Stapp, who later adopted Scott and his two sisters. That is when the kids at school noticed that his initials were A.S.S. and so Scott changed his name to Scott ALAN Stapp, so he would have the same initials as his new father. Scott's biological father DID contact him recently and told him that he was proud of him and happy for him, which only served to make Scott angry since the message came twenty or so years too late.
Scott has full custody of Jagger Michael Stapp and Hilaree does NOT have a major role in his upbringing. Jagger stays with Scott's parents when Scott is on tour, etc. It does seem, though, that Scott has some sort of "FART" infatuation or something.
The deal with the altercation at the Mad Love Room bar in St. Augustine was more thoroughly explained as well. The Ocoee, FL tattoo parlor scandal was not addressed. The article is AWESOME, in my opinion, to give more insight into where Scott is coming from. I don't work for Rolling Stone, but I am advising everyone to go buy the February 28 issue, now at newstands everywhere.
